Sunday 15th July 2007

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Reflection

They passed on the other side

They were two men hurrying to the temple to take part in prayer.
Good men. In Jesus’ story of the Samaritan.
They were hurrying to find God, and missed the man in the ditch,
the one who had been mugged, like ones who are lonely, homeless,
hungry, friendless, jobless.

They were people like ourselves when we feel
we’re dumped, ignored, forgotten, on the side of the road.

And They passed by on the other side.
