Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Reflection

It’s the oldest story in the book – a dispute between two brothers. Jesus didn’t see himself as a judge or referee: the only solution was a parable. Hopefully it would make this man think again.

It makes us think as well. We are here for a limited time. Life is short. If we spend our time here concentrating on earthly things and caring little about God and others, we are only fooling ourselves.

“Make yourself rich in the sight of God.”

Prepare for Cemetery Sunday……
• Please avail of the summer to tidy family graves in the Convent, Cross and Breandrum Cemeteries and involve the whole family in the task.
• Since we are trying to fill in the gaps in the hedges and allow a decent hedge to grow around the Convent Cemetery we ask people (especially those who are erecting new headstones) not to throw debris into the hedges at any time
• Blessing of Graves in Cross, the Convent and Breandrum Cemeteries on Sunday, 23rd September at 3.00 pm.
