Reflection “It is wonderful for us
to be here”
Jesus and his friends can now face the worst, having
experienced the best. This is part of the meaning
of the mountain top experience in today’s Gospel.
The apostles have seen Jesus in his ‘glory’,
but soon they will see him in agony, tortured and
dying on the cross. We witness many people who experience
different agonies; the terminally ill, the depressed,
those who suffer for the cause of justice.
We remember the story of the Transfiguration and
we know that all is not lost. Glory, goodness and
beauty will overcome the pain and agony.
Deaths - We pray for the recently deceased:
James Corrigan, Irvinestown;
Stanislaw Ilnicki, Lower Celtic Park
and Poland;
Lily McKenna(née Rogers) London
and Hillview Road. May they rest in peace.
